You can deal with this or you can deal with that*

One of my favorite features over at Jane's blog is "You can deal with this or you can deal with that". It points up the essential fact: there are some things you can't avoid. And so in that spirit.

You can deal with this:

(David, the Power of Beauty, in Florence -- temporarily reinstalling a replica of David where it was originally intended to be displayed.)

Or you an deal with that:

Event Horizon by Antony Gormely, which I had seen in London in 2007 and was recently displayed here in New York.

Or come to think of it, this:
The Miracle of the Slave by Tintoretto, which hangs in Accademia in Venice.

* Had a great time with Jane in Montréal over the weekend. Let's just say there were three people, one bottle of prosecco, and only two drinkers....

How amazing you got to have a visit together in Montreal! I likewise loved seeing those figures in London back in 2007 (was it really that long ago?), and wished I'd seen them in NYC. You captured 2 absolute Italian classics (word association-wise, I always think Tintoretto-Academia and David-Florence :)).

Didn't know they were moving it to the originally intended spot.

Jude - oh, it was such fun... And I know it seems both so recent and distant -- it was one of the earliest things I blogged on! And glad to learn Tintoretto is one of your highlights of Venice too!

Jane - an homage to your regular feature!

MM - it's just temporary, but it really changes one's sense of its proportions...

Love the shots of Florence. I visited there a few years ago and these images really capture the city's beauty.
